Book: Don’t Panic: the official Hitch-Hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy Companion
Author: Neil Gaiman
Remember the Hitch-Hiker’s guide to the galaxy? Ever wonder whether it was supposed to be “hitch-hiker’s” or “hitchhiker’s” or “hitchhikers'”? No, neither did I, but Neil Gaiman did.
He also pulls out shards of script from various archives and spends most of the book documenting the differences between the radio show, the books, the TV shows, and the computer game. I was a big Douglas Adams fan, but this book was a little too tediously nerdish. The originals don’t need commentary – they contain enough nonsense already, but at least they had the charm of being funny.
